Background
Kate Shinko has been at the Binghamton University Counseling Center since 2011. She attended the University of Scranton for her undergraduate degree and received her doctorate in clinical psychology (PsyD) from Marywood University. She completed her predoctoral internship at SUNY Oneonta's Counseling Center. Her clinical and professional interests include anxiety, trauma (including adverse early life experiences), body image and disordered eating, multicultural issues, self-esteem/worth, resiliency, burnout, self-compassion, and yoga/mindfulness. Her theoretical orientation centers around cognitive behavioral and interpersonal process approaches. Shinko enjoys yoga, running, weight lifting, gardening, video games, singing, and spending time with her pets.
