Background

Sarah Kneebis is a Binghamton native who graduated from Binghamton University with her Master of Social Work (MSW) in 2021. She has worked in a variety of social work settings, including in community public health, inpatient mental health, and substance use disorder outpatient treatment, involving trauma-focused work.

Sarah takes an eclectic, person-centered approach to therapy. She primarily uses Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Mindfulness-based interventions. She encourages clients to approach themselves with curiosity and self-compassion. From there, she works with clients to develop skills and insight which help them live more harmoniously with their values and strengths. Her clinical interests include anxiety, substance use, grief, and trauma. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, songwriting, chess, video games, and quality time with friends, family, and especially her cats.
