Jacob Moose, PhD

Background

Jacob Moose is a clinical instructor in the Health and Wellness Studies division of Binghamton University's Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences. He joined the division in fall 2024.

He attended Nazareth University with the intention of studying physical therapy before falling in love with chemistry and teaching. He then went on to earn a doctorate in chemistry from Syracuse University.

Moose has taught general chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, medicinal chemistry and scientific writing courses across central New York, including Nazareth University, Hamilton College and Colgate University.

His research interest is medicinal chemistry, focusing on utilizing chemical tools to help determine enzyme mechanisms and developing screening assays to detect small-molecule modulation of proteins of interest.
