Woei-Nan Bair, PT, PhD
Assistant Professor, Physical Therapy
Background
Woei-Nan Bair is an assistant professor in the Division of Physical Therapy at Binghamton University's Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences. She joined Binghamton in September 2024.
Bair received her physical therapy education and practiced in university-affiliated teaching hospitals in Taiwan for over 10 years. She specialized in treating balance and gait issues across the lifespan. To further develop her ability to provide evidence-based interventions, she earned a PhD in movement science and completed two postdoctoral trainings.
Her research involves working in transdisciplinary teams, typically including experts in public health, geriatrics and engineering. She is establishing a laboratory to study mechanisms of falls, balance and gait impairments by inducing falls in a controlled, safe environment, either physically or perceptually using virtual reality.
