Vellucci Scholarship

The Frank S. '94 and Rosemary Vellucci Scholarship benefits undergraduate students who have demonstrated a strong commitment to pursuing a career in law, but who face obstacles to achieving their ambition. Recipients will have access to professional and legal mentorship provided by their benefactors. This mentorship will be available throughout the student's remaining undergraduate program, legal studies, and on into their early professional careers, helping them launch a successful legal career.

Eligibility

The Scholarship is open to rising juniors and rising seniors who have completed 32 credit hours at Binghamton University and have a minimum GPA of 3.5. Candidates must be interested in pursuing a law degree.

Preference will be given to students who have made an impact on their communities at school or home and preference will be given to students whose parents did not attend college or students who are the first in their family to apply to law school.


Scholarship Award

The successful candidate will receive a scholarship that will be applied to their tuition. The scholarship is not renewable, a new recipient will be selected annually. The availability of this scholarship is subject to the receipt of the Donors' funding.


Application Instructions

Applicants will submit an essay describing their interest in, and commitment to pursuing a career in the law, explaining the kind of legal career they envision, describing how they have overcome significant obstacles, and outlining their undergraduate achievements and community service.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. EST, April 30th 2024. Late applications will not be accepted.
