Health Fair returning to Binghamton University for 12th year

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – Binghamton University will host its 12th annual Health Fair from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, in the Recreation Center, East Gym, on campus. This event is free and open to the public.

“This health fair is a great way for people all across campus and beyond to come together, interact and see that they’re a part of a community that cares about their well-being,” said Alexa Schmidt, registered dietitian with Binghamton University Dining Services. “We hope this fair helps students, faculty and staff feel comfortable talking about mental, physical and spiritual health, and learn about self-care and how to utilize campus and community resources.”

The fair will showcase ways in which to improve personal health and wellness through exercise, healthy eating and de-stressing. Vendors will provide information, free samples and giveaways. Some of this year’s activities include free chair massages in the Zen Den, exercise sessions such as BODYPUMP, petting therapy dogs and blood pressure screenings.

The event is offered in partnership with Binghamton University Dining Services, the Department of Campus Recreational Services and the Healthy Campus Initiative: B-Healthy. There will be giveaways, raffles, and the opportunity to visit with campus and community health vendors in recognition of National Nutrition Month.

For more information about the Health Fair, contact Schmidt at 607-777-2716 or aschmidt@budining.com. Free parking will be available in Lot E1, located behind the East Gym, with overflow parking available in the Parking Garage.
