Binghamton University tops all SUNY schools in communications competition

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – A number of Binghamton University communications and advancement offices were recognized by the SUNY Council for University Advancement (SUNYCUAD) on June 7, during its annual education conference. Binghamton University won nine communications awards, more than any other school nominated.

The University won five “Best in Category” awards, including: Best Media Relations Program for Getting to Know President Stenger, Best Photo for Surrounding Foliage and Best Alumni and Fundraising Video for George Nunez: From the South Bronx to Wall Street by the Office of Media and Public Relations; the Shoestring Budget: Special Events award for The Art of Science at Binghamton University and the External Audiences award for 9 Things You Didn’t Know About Binghamton Research by the Office of Research Advancement.

Binghamton also won the Individual Platform Campaign award for Senior Week Campaign – Photos at the Berm and the Shoestring Budget: Videos award for Bite-Sized Research Briefs by the Office of Media and Public Relations; and the Print award for Binghamton University Decker Magazine by the Office of Communications and Marketing.

SUNYCUAD represents all professionals employed in a cross-section of institutional advancement areas at every SUNY campus and exists to promote understanding and support of SUNY, providing professional development and networking opportunities for advancement of professionals in the areas of public relations, alumni relations, publications, electronic communications, development, government relations and marketing.
