Congratulations also to P3 student Brianna Flint who won the poster competition at the Mid-Winter PSSNY meeting with a professional presentation that people were flocking to. Flint bested18 posters from every school in New York state with her poster titled, “Development of a lidocaine carbomer gel for application during medical procedures.” Her faculty mentor on the project was Anthony Di Pasqua, assistant professor of pharmaceutical sciences. Flint noted that the competition “was a remarkable, eye-opening experience and it was exciting to see what pharmacists, pharmaceutical companies and pharmacy students thought about my research.”

Jumana Khatib, Eric Kelly, Diana Kwiatkowski, Heather Garr and Brianna Howell won the OTC Self-care Challenge at the Mid-Winter Pharmacists Society of the State of New York (PSSNY), held in Albany in late January. The team of P1 students bettered teams from every other university in New York state in the Jeopardy!-style challenge — many of them comprised of higher-level students!

P3 students Elizabeth “Liz” Laughlin and Keri Mastro represented Binghamton University School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the American Society of Health-system Pharmacists National Clinical Skills Competition at its midyear meeting in Las Vegas in December.

P3 students Liz Laughlin and Alicia Letizio received the first scholarship awards from the Southern Tier Society of Health-system Pharmacists. Congratulations!
