Men’s soccer senior Jack Muller
Like the rest of the Binghamton student-athletes, senior forward Jack Muller has had to deal with adjusting the past five months. He finished out his junior year online once Binghamton University shut down in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In July, it was announced that the fall sports season was postponed. We caught up with Muller who reflected on how the team has gotten closer during the past five months and his looking ahead to when they are able to get back on the field.

Siblings park track and field programs
It’s not often that two sets of brothers and sisters are a part of the same athletic program. But that is the case this year with the Binghamton cross country and track programs.
Kaylee and Josh Stone are from nearby Windsor, N.Y. Kaylee graduated from Windsor High School in 2017 and Josh three years later. Ryan and Kyra Guerci, who are twins, hail from Nanuet, New York and both of them graduated from Nanuet High School in 2019.
This year marks the first time that all four of them will be part of the same program. Each family member has been there for one other through the good times, tough times and especially during the current pandemic. They all are excited about the prospect of being a part of a program this year that has become like another family to them.
Golf senior Matt Catton
Senior Matt Catton last played in a collegiate golf tournament in October 2019. Since then, the spring portion of the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 epidemic and the current fall season has been postponed. Catton, however, has remained busy working on both his golf game and with an internship. Catton returned to campus this week and along with the rest of his teammates, are looking forward to returning to the course in the future.
Junior distance runner Matt Goyden
Matt Goyden, who runs both cross country and track, has had to deal with plenty of changes since last March. After the spring track season was canceled, the fall cross country season was postponed. Still, he remains grateful for the teammates and coaches that he has as well as the way the Binghamton Athletic Department has navigated its way through the current pandemic.
Softball junior Alli Richmond
Junior softball player Alli Richmond has always appreciated the role of family in her life.
Originally from nearby Horseheads, New York. She and her older sister Jenna played high school ball together and each went on to Division I programs. While Ali stayed local in the Binghamton area, Jenna heads to the University of Buffalo. The support they both received from their parents during their careers has been tremendous.
At Binghamton, meanwhile, Richmond found a second family in the Binghamton softball program. In her sophomore year, she was named a team captain. Off the field, Richmond was inducted into the National College Athlete Honor Society last spring. By the time March 2020 rolled around, she had more than found her way at Binghamton University.
Freshman distance runner Sheridan Talada
Hailing from Waverly, N.Y., freshman Sheridan Talada joins the Binghamton cross country and distance track program.
During her time at Waverly High School Talada set five program records and finished 15th overall at the 2019 New York State (NYS) Class C cross country meet. She graduated as the salutatorian of her class and was part of the National Honor Society.
Talada shares why she chose Binghamton, her proudest moments in her running career so far, what she is looking forward to as practices begin and more.
Men’s soccer senior Noal Luescher
Things were looking up for Noah Luescher and the Binghamton men’s soccer team following the 2019 season. The Bearcats returned to the America East Tournament after a two-year absence. He had been named second-team all-conference and was a repeat selection on the America East All-Academic Team.
The Bearcats were in the thick of training for their spring season when the COVID-19 pandemic brought everything to a halt. Luescher and the team won’t be competing this fall but they look ahead to the spring in the hopes that they can regain their momentum from last fall.
