Alumni honored in virtual awards ceremony

The Alumni Association honored 16 Binghamton University graduates in a video that premiered Sept. 10 on Facebook and YouTube. The virtual ceremony replaced an in-person spring event canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

About 100 alumni and friends joined the initial screening of the awards video on social media in which the Alumni Association presented its signature awards and Medals of Distinguished Service as well as Harpur College distinguished alumni awards. The recording can be seen on the Alumni Association’s Facebook and YouTube pages.

To date, the video has been viewed about 1,500 times. This realized one of the objectives of the virtual presentation: expanding the reach and visibility of the awards program beyond what would be obtained from a traditional in-person event.
