School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences kudos, fall 2020

The following students assisted with the Wegmans flu clinics on campus:

Keri Mastro, a P4 student, received a scholarship from the Pharmacists Association of the Southern Tier (PAST), an affiliate of the Pharmacists Society of the State of New York (PSSNY). This scholarship is awarded to one PharmD student who resides within one of PAST’s 11 county affiliate regions. Scholarship criteria included consideration of community service, academic performance, involvement in pharmacy affiliations, support from school faculty and dedication toward contributing to progressing the field of pharmacy.

Jeffrey Cole was the recipient of the New York State Chapter of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (NYS-ACCP) 2020 Scholarship

Joe D’Antonio was featured in APhA’s nationally-distributed Student Pharmacist Magazine.

Our chapter of ASHP-SSHP earned the national Outstanding Professional Development Project Award for its innovative approach to supporting ASHP’s mission through the Mock Clinical Skills Competition.

The JC Community in Action student group completed three weekend clean-ups of Johnson City this semester.

Diana Kwiatkowski held the regional position of APhA-ASP’s Region 1 Midyear Regional Meeting Coordinator (MRMC) this past semester.

KarenBeth Bohan, professor of pharmacy practice, received the New York State American College of Clinical Pharmacy Educator of the Year Award at the organization’s annual meeting held Nov 6. The NYS ACCP Awards Committee selected her based on her ability to inspire independent learning and her ability to challenge students with out-of-the box teaching techniques.

Wesley Kufel, clinical assistant professor of pharmacy practice, received a special commendation from the American College of Clinical Pharmacy for his significant role as a reviewer of the home-study series for infectious diseases pharmacotherapy specialists.
