Dear Students, Faculty, Colleagues and Friends,

It has taken a pandemic to demonstrate it, but now more than ever society is recognizing the immense value that pharmacists bring to the healthcare field.

As you’ll read in this newsletter, our students and faculty have the expertise and training to test for COVID-19 and deliver vaccinations to provide individuals immunity from it ̶ and have contributed to efforts that will help us end this pandemic.

I’m thankful for the executive order from Gov. Andrew Cuomo that authorized pharmacists to deliver these services and hope that, once the pandemic is over, pharmacists in New York state will be allowed to continue to provide these services to patients.

Until then, we will continue to educate and train our students to care as part of a healthcare team, always looking out for the best interests of their patients.

And as I look out my window another day of snow and cold weather, let me note that, though it might seem like a long way off, spring is just around the corner!

Sincerely,

Gloria Meredith
