Forum announces scholarship recipients
The Binghamton University Forum announces its scholarship recipients for academic year 2023-24: Daniel Chavarria, a senior in the School of Management, and Nykole Nevol, a graduate student in her first year of Binghamton’s master’s degree program in biomedical anthropology.
Chavarria attended SUNY Broome Community College prior to enrolling at Binghamton to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He moved to the Binghamton area six years ago from Chihuahua, Mexico. He has quickly established himself as a student leader at the University, earning a coveted spot on President Harvey Stenger’s Road Map Intern Team. He and his fellow students provide insights on the Binghamton’s most strategic priorities.
Nevol is participating in the AmeriCorps program through the Broome County Council of Churches, working as a community engagement specialist for the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse (CHOW) and Greater Good Grocery store on food equity projects. Nevol’s service with the program will last for nearly one year, concluding in November. Her goal is to engage and educate community members on resources that can help them obtain fresh, affordable and nutritious food.
