Help your student stay active with a fitness membership

1 minute read

The East Gym Recreation Center is the place for your student to stay active on campus. Make sure they’re ready to hit the gym or join a group exercise class by buying a fitness membership before classes start. With the facilities at the East Gym, Recreation Center, they’ll have everything they need to stay fit and have fun!

A fitness membership provides access to both the FitSpace fitness facility and a variety of group exercise classes. FitSpace, located in the East Gym Recreation Center, offers a wide range of cardio and strength machines, free weights, stretching areas, and the SYNRGY360 system, complete with battle ropes, suspension training, monkey bars and a punching bag. The Recreation Center also has three group fitness rooms for classes like Pilates, yoga, spinning, kickboxing and barre.

There are two membership options to choose from: a fall semester membership for $100 or an academic annual membership (covering both semesters) for $180. Opting for the academic annual membership is the most convenient and cost-effective way for your student to stay active and engaged throughout the year at Binghamton. The easiest way to purchase is online at recreation.binghamton.edu.

To kick off the new school year, there’s a special Welcome Week event from 8-11 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, called After Dark at the Rec. This event is open to all students and will have glow-in-the-dark fitness classes, information about club and intramural sports, fun fitness challenges, crafts and a trail mix bar provided by Binghamton University Dining Services. It’s a great way for your student to get involved and see all that Campus Recreation has to offer.
