Free Classes
Participants in the Older Adult Audit Program are NY State residents age 60 and older who may audit Binghamton University courses free* of charge on a space available basis with the permission of the instructor. While certain restrictions apply, this is available to all SUNY institutions and schools.

* Some courses, such as Studio Art, may have fees for supplies or materials. If you choose to purchase materials associated with the course, the fees are collected by the department.

Anderson Center
Binghamton University retirees may continue to enjoy the Anderson Center Theatre at faculty/staff rates.

Lyceum
Lyceum is a "lifetime learning association" for adult learners. It offers fun opportunities
to learn among peers.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Confidential assessment, referral counseling services, and on campus wellness programs are available to retirees and their families. Or, check out the free lending library! Visit EAP on the internet or call for an appointment at 777-6655.
University Center for Training and Development (UCTD)
University retirees are welcome to participate in computer and other workshops on a space-available basis. For more information, call 777-6362 or visit the UCTD website.
Athletic Events
Check out the program at our new Events Center! Binghamton University retirees will continue to receive the same discount as active faculty/staff. You can find all the athletic events offered by calling 777-SLAM (777-7526).
ID Card
You can have your picture taken for your Binghamton University retiree card at the
Office of Human Resources in Couper Administration Building room 244.
Call 777-5333 for service hours. If your picture is still in the system, you can simply
call to have a new card mailed to you.
University Bookstore
Have your retiree ID card with you and receive the same discount as faculty/staff when shopping in our campus bookstore. Check out current offers on the web or by calling 777-2745.
Telecommunication
Notify the Telecommunications office if you want to continue services you had prior
to retirement by reaching out to 777-2524.
Department of Music
The Department of Music offers a wonderful concert calendar all year long.
Binghamton University retirees can continue to use the faculty/staff discount, so find out what is being offered by calling 777-2592.
Campus Recreation
Take part in many aspects of Campus Recreation programming, including Open Recreation & Aquatics, Fitness & Wellness and Outdoor Pursuits. Access is available with a valid retiree ID card to check-in to the Recreation Center at the East Gym during the week, Monday - Friday from 5:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., for open recreation activities (basketball, volleyball, swimming, badminton). Access to the East Gym outdoor tennis courts and track is also available. Rec Center access outside those timeframes requires a membership. Retirees can purchase an All-inclusive Fitness membership or Rec Only membership (at Faculty/Staff rate) for the Rec Center. Spouses and dependent children (age 18 and over) can purchase an all-inclusive membership at the Affiliate rate. Other paid services are personal training, massage, nutrition counseling, or specialty wellness classes.

Campus Parking
You will be able to purchase parking privileges at the same rate that you did when
you were employed.
Parking services in the Couper Administration Building (AD) Ground Floor will sell the appropriate
permit/registration or you can purchase your parking decal online. You can also contact
them by calling 777-2279.
University Retirees' Club
All Binghamton University State and Research Foundation retirees and spouses are invited to join this club which meets for lunch at Little Venice Restaurant. You email the club directly to join their mailing list. Whether you live here locally or have moved, this is another opportunity to stay connected with campus friends.
Annual dues are $5; a life membership is $50. Dues are collected in cash or as a check payable to “BU Retirees Club” at one of the Club’s luncheons. The current per-person price is $21 in 2024-2025.
Library
Borrowing Privileges
With your Binghamton University ID Retiree Card, you may obtain courtesy borrowing privileges. May borrow books and government documents for a 4-week loan period. 50-book limit. Emeritus Faculty retain the same library borrowing privileges as given pre-retirement. Remote access services may be restricted due to frequency changing licensing agreements and interlibrary loan request.
Electronic Resources
The Libraries' online catalog is freely available to all. Databases, e-journals, and e-books to which the Libraries subscribe are available for Binghamton University retirees to use on campus. Restrictions in the subscription licensing agreements for these resources preclude their off-campus use.
All New York State residents have access to the New York Online Virtual Electronic Library (NOVEL), which includes the full text of thousands of journals, newspapers and other references. All you need to log in is your New York State Driver License ID or DMV Non-Driver Photo ID. New York State residents may also apply for a library card from the New York Public Library, which can be used to access over 80 of NYPL's online databases from home. You may also want to try the Online Reference Shelf, which has many free online resources.
