Hello, my name is Mary Bonsu, a first-generation graduate and proud alumna of Binghamton University's Decker School of Nursing. My college journey began at Lehman College in the Bronx, New York, where I studied for a year and a half before transferring to Binghamton in Spring 2022 as a Psychology major. Anticipating the challenge of getting into one of the top nursing program in the state, I double-majored in Psychology and Nursing. With determination and the Grace of God, I was accepted into Decker School of Nursing. However, my journey was not without its struggles; I failed my first two nursing exams and nearly failed two classes in my first semester. The fear and resilience I experienced during this period inspired me to become a mentor. Having had no one to guide me, I now aspire to share my knowledge and support others, as helping and advising people is a passion of mine.
