I didn't plan to attend college and no one in my sphere of influence encouraged me to. I ended up attending an open house because my high school friend invited me to go with her. I applied at that one institution and got in. I then had to navigate all of the financial aid and academic matters on my own because my single mom couldn't afford to help and had no college experience. I am grateful to have been supported by many mentors in undergrad from my swimming coach to the professional res life staff. It's because of my undergraduate experience that I have made my career in higher education. I am into outdoor activities, watching my daughters high school sports games, reading, road trips and fitness. A fun fact is that my dream is to play "Survivor" and win the million dollar prize!
