Executive Board
2023-2024
President - Michelle Gardner
The president presides at all meetings of the organization and of the executive board. The president is also an ex-officio member of all committees, except the Nominating Committee. The term is one year.
Vice President/President-elect - Katharine Krebs
The vice president/president-elect assists the president in all functions of the
organization including presiding over any meeting that takes place in the absence
of the president. She is an ex-officio member of the Nominating Committee. The vice
president/president-elect serves in this capacity for one year and then proceeds to
the presidency in the second year.
Secretary - Katie Ellis
The secretary provides administrative and clerical support to the board through the
timely and accurate collection and sharing of information. She ensures that the board's
governance activities are well documented for the use of board members and the membership.
The term is two years.
Treasurer - Nancy Lewis
The treasurer collects all money due or gifted to the organization and dispenses all
money the organization owes or gifts. She ensures accurate and detailed records of
all
money received and disbursed. The term is two years.
Director of Interest Groups - Karen Pompi
The director of interest groups serves as coordinator between Binghamton University Women members and the established interest groups.
Director of Communications - Sharon O'Neill
The director of communications oversees the management and production of content for
all communications including the Binghamton University Women web presence, social
media and all publications. This position is supported by a committee chaired by the
director. The term is two years.
Director of Membership - Laurel O'Connor
The director of membership is responsible for outreach and recruitment of new members and ensuring that an accurate and up-to-date record of the full membership is maintained to support our efforts to communicate with each other. She also oversees the welcoming of new members. This position is supported by a committee chaired by the director. The term is two years.
Member-at-Large - Melinda Holicky
The member-at-large represents the general concerns of the membership and chairs the Ad Hoc Advisory Committee for general social activities. She also serves as liaison for the University Women-supported scholarships to maintain good communications between our organization and the University about the growth and use of the scholarship funds. The term is two years.
Past President, ex-officio - Katie Ellis
The past president serves in an advisory capacity to the president and board for six
months following the end of her term.
