Routes for the Pharmacy Early Acceptance Program

2+4 Route

Two years of undergraduate coursework + four years in the PharmD program. Students will only complete prerequisite courses and will not earn a bachelor’s degree. Students will complete only a PharmD degree.

3+4 Route

Three years of undergraduate coursework + four years in the PharmD program. With proper planning, a student may be able to complete the requirements for a bachelor’s degree in three years, followed by a PharmD degree.

4+4 Route

Four years of undergraduate coursework + four years in the PharmD program. Students will earn a bachelor’s degree after the first four years of study, followed by a PharmD degree.

The First Academic Year (freshman year)

  • Students admitted to Binghamton University in the fall semester are eligible to apply to the PEAP in the spring semester of their first year. The application will become available in December and the deadline is Feb. 15.
  • To do so, students must complete a minimum of two of the prerequisite courses in their first semester from the courses listed below:

    CHEM 107 or 111; CHEM 108 or 341; CHEM 231; CHEM 332; MATH 224 + MATH 225; MATH 147 or 148; BIO 113; BIO 114, PHYS 121 or 131; WRIT 111; (ECON 160 - see note below)

  • Note: If a student has AP credits for both CHEM 107 and MATH 224 + 225 (Calculus), it is acceptable to take ECON 160 during the first semester.

  • AP credits and transfer credits can be used to fulfill the prerequisite courses. However, these courses do not change the requirement for students to take at least two prerequisite classes in their first semester at Binghamton University.
  • One semester of English (completed or enrolled) is strongly encouraged at the time of application. This includes courses from ENG, WRIT and COLI.

  • This plan fulfills requirements for a bachelor's degree in most Harpur College majors. Students should consult with Harpur Academic Advising to ensure all degree requirements are being met.
  • The following courses are recommended electives: BIOL 403, MATH 226 & 227 and PHYS 122.
  • Student will take the PCAT no later than September of Fall 4.
  • Student will complete the PharmCAS application by Dec. 1 of Fall 4.
