New hires enhance fundraising and development activities

The Division of Advancement has added the following people to its staff as it makes significant investments to enhance scholarship development and major gift support for campus:

    ● Calley R. Rebello, director of scholarship development and student aid. Rebello was previously coordinator of gift and donor records for the Binghamton University Foundation. She is focusing on development and stewardship efforts that have a direct impact on students, including the distribution of $2.5 million in donor support to approximately 1,900 students annually.

    ● John J. Zacharek ’92, executive director of development. Zacharek had been vice president for development at Onondaga Community College (part of the State University of New York system) and executive director of the Onondaga Community College Foundation. He is putting his extensive experience to work on a campus-wide pool of high-impact individuals, corporate donors and special fundraising initiatives.

    ● Three new development associates are focusing on one-on-one solicitation of annual gifts of $1,000 and up:

o Michele Artus, development associate for Harpur College.
o Wendy M. Kober ’13, development associate for the School of Management.
o Corey T. Lemon, development associate for the Binghamton Fund.

    ● Patrick J. Doyle has joined the division on a part-time basis as director of development. He is working to engage donors on behalf of the
College of Community and Public Affairs. In addition, he is putting his long history of civic involvement in the Binghamton area to engage local prospective donors. Doyle has strong ties to key leaders in Greater Binghamton and has an extensive background in marketing, communications and business development.
