This workshop, led by communications consultant and author Amy Aines, will strengthen participants’ ability to express themselves clearly, ensure they have been understood, and encourage productive collaboration. We will work with relevant subject matter and provide opportunities to apply key concepts. Aines is co-author of the book “Championing Science: Communicating Your Ideas to Decision Makers.” The workshop will cover topics such as where to start when sharing ideas, extracting the essence to introduce new information, using analogies, assessing comprehension via inquiry and non-verbal cues and facilitating idea sharing and disagreement.
