About

The School of Management Dean’s Student Advisory Committee (DSAC) is a group of undergraduate student representatives who serve as an advisory group to Dean Shelley Dionne and her leadership team (Associate Dean George Bobinski, Associate Dean Murali Jagannathan, and Assistant Dean Linda Reynolds). Members of DSAC represent some of the SOM’s most passionate, enthusiastic, and service-oriented student leaders. Committee membership is limited. Students are selected by the Deans for each academic year.

Specifically, the committee exists to:

  1. Improve the SOM student educational experience by engaging in mutual idea sharing with administrators, faculty, and staff.
  2. Promote a culture of inclusiveness and collaboration between the SOM student body, faculty, alumni, and administrators.
  3. Advocate on behalf of the larger SOM student body.
  4. Promote interdisciplinary and community-engaged initiatives.
  5. Spearhead projects aimed at building SOM pride among all school stakeholders.
  6. Aid in gaining and retaining top tier students.

Member Responsibilities

The committee meets monthly with the SOM deans to share information and engage in open dialogue about issues pertaining to the school.

In addition to attending monthly meetings with the deans, DSAC members may be asked to meet with faculty and staff, on occasion, to discuss issues such as course and curriculum planning, advising opportunities, internship experiences, recruitment activities, etc. DSAC members may also serve as ambassadors when the Dean hosts distinguished visitors, or be invited to give presentations to the SOM Alumni Advisory Boards/Councils.

DSAC meetings are held once a month in AA 120 - Dean’s Suite Conference Room.
