Background

Vanessa Jaeger earned her PhD in English from Binghamton University in 2019 and received both her MA and BA from University of Rochester. Her area of expertise is medieval literature, particularly the Middle English Romance. She has published articles on the value of examining medieval literature through an ecocritical lens and also on how to integrate positive pedagogical practices into a classroom. She has extensive expertise in editing, having served as the Managing Editor for Binghamton University Undergraduate Journal and Binghamton Now, and as Lead Editor for Binghamton Writes. Currently, she teaches courses in first-year composition, professional writing, and gossip in media. During her time at Binghamton, she has also served as the Assistant Director to External Scholarships and Undergraduate Research and as the Pre-Law Advisor in Harpur Advising.
