About the Division of Advancement

The offices of Development and Alumni Engagement along with advancement leadership make up the Division of Advancement team of approximately 35 employees whose works supports every aspect of Binghamton University's mission.

Working with the Binghamton University Foundation, University partners on campus, and the boards of the Foundation and of the Alumni Association, the division strengthens the University and elevates the Binghamton experience for students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors and everyone who shares a passion for the University and its continued success.

Advancement and the University thrive thanks to gifts of time, talent and financial support from alumni, donors and other friends. In addition to volunteering as mentors and participating at alumni events worldwide, philanthropy is another important and meaningful way our alumni deepen their engagement and stay connected to Binghamton. 

With generous donor support, Advancement has completed three successful fundraising campaigns: EXCELERATE: Moving at the Speed of Binghamton, Believe in Binghamton and Bold.Brilliant.Binghamton — The Campaign for Binghamton University. 

EXCELERATE, a seven-year initiative that ended June 30, 2024, has raised more than $260 million to advance the University.
