About the Culture Connects
Culture Connects began in 2011 as a printed bi-monthly magazine published by the Multicultural Resource Center. The current Culture Connects Weekly is an electronic newsletter that allows Binghamton University students, faculty and staff to stay up to date cultural news, hot topics, upcoming campus-wide events and programs, internship and employment opportunities and event local community news and events. In addition, at the beginning of each semester, the MRC publishes an updated list of minority-owned businesses in the area that cater to the needs of students of color who wonder how they are going to manage in college without their neighborhood restaurants, salons, grocery stores or religious establishments. If you wish to subscribe to the MRC Culture Connects Weekly for up-to-date campus events and career opportunities, submit your name and Binghamton University e-mail address using our newsletter sign-up form.
Culture Connects Weekly Newsletter Guidelines
The MRC Culture Connects Weekly is an electronic newsletter that allows Binghamton University students, faculty, staff and alumni to stay up to date on cultural news, hot topics, upcoming campus-wide events and programs, scholarships, internship and employment opportunities and event local community news and events.
The MRC newsletter is distributed every Monday afternoon, unless special circumstances arise.
To submit content to be featured in our Culture Connects Weekly newsletter, please do the following:
- Select the most relevant category for the news/advertisement you would like included
in our newsletter:
- MRC Events and Announcements
- Cultural Organizations News and Events
- Campus and Local Community News and Events
- Scholarship, Jobs or Internship Announcements
- Save the Date
- Include title, caption and all artwork relevant to your news.
- Artwork should be formatted
- In RGB color mode
- In .jpg, .jpeg, .png, or .gif file format
- In one of the following sizes:
- 1080px x 1080px / 1920px x 1080px / 1080px x 1350px / 1080px x 714px
- Artwork should be formatted
- Include contact information, in the event we need to follow-up regarding your announcement request
- If you would like multiple advertisements to be featured in a single newsletter, please submit a separate request for each individual ad.
- Please note that caption language submitted on the form may be modified to be consistent
with the style and formatting of the MRC newsletter
Submission Deadline:
Requests should be submitted by 11:59 p.m. every Wednesday in order for news/advertisement to appear in the following week's newsletter.
