BINGHAMTON, NY – David Harrell, actor, writer, speaker, dancer and disability advocate, will perform “A Little Potato and Hard to Peel,” at the Binghamton University Forum luncheon program, Thursday, Feb. 23. The luncheon will begin at noon, at the Binghamton Club, 83 Front Street, Binghamton, followed by the performance at 12:30.

Written and performed by Harrell, ”A Little Potato and Hard to Peel,” is based on a true story of a little league baseball team on its journey to overcome all odds.

Harrell holds a BFA in theater performance from the University of Mississippi and an MFA from the University of North Carolina and Greensboro, and for the past 14 years, has worked as an actor. He served as the accessibility and outreach director for the Raleigh Ensemble Players Theater Company, and received a Triangle Access Award from the Alliance of Advocates in recognition of his work.  Harrell performed his first solo show titled “The Quest,” in theaters, schools, churches, and conferences throughout the Southeast.

In addition, Harrell produced a four-week run of “A Little Potato and Hard to Peel,” off-off Broadway, and was nominated for a New York Innovative Theater Award for Outstanding Solo Performance.  He has also performed with the Actors Studio, Take Wings and Soar, TBTB and the New York Classical Theater and appeared on the television program “Law and Order: SVU,” as well as in several independent films and webisodes.
