BINGHAMTON, NY – Binghamton University will host a presentation by Eric Schwartz at 7 p.m. Monday, March 18, in the Anderson Center Chamber Hall. Swartz, a public policy expert and former White House and United Nations advisor, earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Binghamton University in 1979. This event is free and open to the public.
During his 25-year career in public service, his positions have included U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees and Migration; UN Deputy Special Envoy for Tsunami Recovery; and Senior Director and Special Assistant to the President for Multilateral and Humanitarian Affairs. In 2011, he was named Dean of the Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Policy at the University of Minnesota.
This event is co-sponsored by Dorm Room Diplomacy, the Binghamton University Alumni Association and the Department of Political Science. Dorm Room Diplomacy is a campus-based organization that fosters intercultural dialogue between students in the United States, Middle East and North Africa.
