BINGHAMTON, NY -- President Barack Obama will visit Binghamton University Friday, Aug. 23, as part of an upstate swing to talk about affordable higher education for the middle class.
“We’re thrilled that President Obama will be visiting the Binghamton University campus next week. His visit will reinforce the value we bring to students as they seek access to quality higher education that won’t burden them with immense debt,” said Binghamton University President Harvey G. Stenger. “Many of our students are the first in their families to attend college, and we’re proud that President Obama is drawing attention to how public institutions such as Binghamton University help make higher education more affordable for the middle class.”
“On behalf of the Greater Binghamton region, we welcome a visit by the President of the United States to our campus and our community.”
The University is awaiting further details about the visit, which is a White House event and is being coordinated by President Obama’s staff.
