BINGHAMTON, NY -- Students and visitors have a lot to look forward to when the 20th anniversary celebration of University Fest takes place from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, on the spine of the Binghamton University campus. The school colors − green and white − will be obvious everywhere, and the University’s fight song will be played throughout the day.

Everyone will enjoy music from WHRW DJs, slip and slide in the water area, participate in Tricycle Races, eat from a display of over 1,000 cupcakes and watch the fest’s first-ever Dog Parade!

University Fest also features a Student Organization Fair so students can learn about the many clubs and organizations on campus, and department tabling for students to learn about the student service and academic side of campus. Plus, there will be vendors selling all kinds of great stuff perfect for a residence hall room!

Then, from 5-8 p.m., there’s more fun for everyone with Shindig at the Fountain on the Harpur Quad – another first-time event for the campus! Shindig is the perfect place to be and a chance for everyone to enjoy their dinner while listening to a concert sponsored by the Binghamton Underground Music Program (BUMP). And while there, they can take a ride on a Ferris Wheel, a carousel and a sidewinder and listen to the band Wild Nothing, a popular group that has over 89,000 likes on Facebook. The rides and concerts are free for all.

The 20th anniversary University Fest – though the free book giveaway is gone, the celebration remains! For more information, visit: http://www.binghamton.edu/campus-activities/university-fest.html.
