BINGHAMTON, NY – Binghamton University’s Eating Awareness Committee (EAC) will host two lectures on Thursday, March 13. Guest speaker Tim Wierman, triathlete, nutritionist and owner of Eat to Compete, will be presenting. Wierman, a member of the American Dietetic Association and an expert in sports nutrition, has made hundreds of lectures to individuals of all ages who are looking to maximize their nutrition. Both events are free and open to the public.

The lecture, "Optimizing Metabolism for the Working Professional," will be held from noon-1 p.m. in room 108 in the University Union, on campus. Attendees will learn how to balance nutritional needs, energy level and resources within a working lifestyle. This event is sponsored by the Binghamton University Eating Awareness Committee and Employee Assistance Program.

The featured lecture, "Fueling for Mind and Body," will be held from 5-6 p.m. in the Chenango Champlain Collegiate Center, on campus. This discussion will cover the importance of proper fueling, hydration and popular supplements and how they influence physical capacity and cognitive function.

The Eating Awareness Committee is unique to Binghamton University, as it is comprised of professional staff, faculty and students from multiple departments across campus. The mission of this committee is to provide education, outreach and resources to both campus and community, as it relates to body image, eating disorders, nutrition and fitness.
