BINGHAMTON, NY – Binghamton University’s sculpture program will host its ninth annual Invitational Iron Pour throughout the day Friday, April 25, in the sculpture studios in room 154 of the Fine Arts Building on the University campus. This event is free and open to the public.

Sculpture students and faculty from 11 college and university programs including Alfred, Cornell, Cortland, Keystone, Penn State, Ramapo, Rochester Institute of Technology, Skidmore, Syracuse and Salem Art Works will be in attendance. White-hot iron, raised to a temperature of more than 2,700 degrees in Binghamton’s two furnaces and two others brought in by invited programs, will be poured into over 100 molds to create sculptures. Independent professional sculptors known for their work in iron will also participate, as will Sculptor-in-Residence Matthew Wicker.

A reception for Wicker’s exhibition, "historia," will follow the pour in the Rosefsky Gallery, room 259 of the Fine Arts Building.
