BINGHAMTON, NY -- Celebrate the last day of classes and see the newly acquired Mascot Madness Cup during a Victory Lap with Baxter Friday, May 9, at Binghamton University.

Starting at noon at the Events Center, Baxter will lead a procession of vehicles around campus, ending at the Peace Quad in front of the University Union, where everyone will have a chance to check out the SUNY Mascot Madness Cup as well as congratulate New York’s favorite college mascot.

Through hundreds of thousands of online votes, Baxter has been crowned champion of the highly-contested SUNY Mascot Madness 2014 competition, edging out The College at Brockport‘s Ellsworth Eagle in the final round of the bracket-style competition. Baxter collected 27,481 points by way of online votes and social media bonus points.

Baxter was recently presented with the Mascot Madness Cup during a ceremony at SUNY Day in Washington, D.C., when SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher, along with U.S. Congressman Richard Hanna (R-22nd District), were on hand to crown Baxter.

Over the summer the trophy will travel to various offices on campus until it is returned to the Events Center.
