BINGHAMTON, NY -- The Binghamton University Foundation has named Sheila Doyle as its executive director. In this role, Doyle will report directly to President Harvey Stenger and serve as a member of his senior officer’s group. Her primary role will be planning and organizing the continued growth and development of the Binghamton University Foundation, which includes $150 million in assets and nearly $100 million in its investment portfolio.

"The support that the foundation provides to students and the campus is essential," said Binghamton University President Harvey Stenger. "It’s imperative for the University that the trajectory of the foundation continues upward. Sheila was a natural choice for us to build on the current success of the foundation."

Doyle will continue to be a liaison to all foundation board committees as well as to the Binghamton University Forum. She also serves as executive director of the foundation’s affiliated entities: University Plaza, LLC; Southern Tier High Technology Incubator, Inc.; Campus Related Properties; and Binghamton Foundation Support Services.

The Binghamton University Foundation contributes funding for student support, faculty hiring and retention, research support, academic programs, awards and grants, as well as the flexibility for Binghamton University to meet a variety of ongoing and critical needs.

Doyle brings a wealth of financial experience and a long track record of impressive accomplishments. "Her leadership will ensure the foundation continues to provide the campus and the community the support needed," said Paul Turovsky, chair of the Binghamton University Foundation Board." The entire board enthusiastically endorsed her appointment and is confident that she will successfully help lead the foundation in the fulfillment of its important mission to serve Binghamton University."

Doyle earned her bachelor of business administration in accounting degree from St. Bonaventure University. She began her career with Chase Manhattan Bank as an internal auditor, achieving her Certified Internal Auditor designation. She moved to the trust and investment division of Chase, advancing to the level of vice president and manager of the division in Binghamton. Doyle was hired at Binghamton University in February 2000, as the associate executive director of the foundation.

The Binghamton University Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation established to raise funds that further the purpose and mission of Binghamton University. Volunteers and staff members, working on behalf of the foundation, foster and maintain partnerships with alumni parents, friends and members of the University community.
