BINGHAMTON, NY – Homecoming 2014, sponsored by the Binghamton University Alumni Association, will take place Friday to Sunday, Oct. 17-19, on campus. Alumni, faculty, staff, students and the local community are invited to a wide range of activities that will celebrate Binghamton’s past, present and future.

The Binghamton University Basketball Showcase, featuring the men's and women's hoops and spirit squads, will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at the Events Center. Admission is free.

President Harvey Stenger will discuss the University's progress on an ambitious five-year strategic plan for growth into an institution with 20,000 students at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, in Lecture Hall 14. TIER Talks: Talks that Inspire, Educate and Resonate, a new speaker series sponsored by the Alumni Association, will launch at 2:15 p.m. in the Watters Theater. An accomplished panel of Binghamton University faculty, along with one alumnus, will discuss "Rethinking Success: Thriving in the Modern World."

Tailgate '14, which is expected to attract a crowd of more than 1,000, will be held from 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, in the Events Center parking lot. University and local community members are invited to bring their food and grills. The men's soccer team will face the University of Vermont Catamounts at 6 p.m. in the Bearcats Sports Complex.

In addition, Homecoming will have several open houses for spaces in the recently renovated University Union, such as the Fleishman Center for Career and Professional Development, Educational Opportunity Program, Center for Civic Engagement and the MarketPlace. The weekend will include a number of opportunities for alumni to mentor and advise current students.
