BINGHAMTON, NY – Binghamton University’s Confucius Institute of Chinese Opera (CICO) will host a celebration of Chinese arts, language and culture from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Oakdale Mall in Johnson City. The event is free and open to the public.
Global Confucius Institute Day will feature a range of activities, lectures and exhibits to honor Chinese cultural traditions and engage attendees of all ages.
This event will provide an entertaining showcase of Chinese culture – including authentic cuisine, Beijing opera demonstrations, language classes and the opportunity for the public to try on performance costumes.
CICO at Binghamton University is a nonprofit organization, jointly formed by the University and the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts, and is sponsored by the Confucius Institute Headquarters in Beijing, China. In addition to organizing community events, the CICO offers on-campus workshops, lectures and courses.
