BINGHAMTON, NY – Actor Tony Lo Bianco will speak at the Binghamton University Forum luncheon program Tuesday, Oct. 21, in collaboration with the Goodwill Theatre’s Schorr Family Firehouse Stage. A luncheon buffet will held at noon and the formal program will begin at 12:30 p.m., at the Binghamton Club, 83 Front St., Binghamton.

Lo Bianco will talk about his inspiration for writing, producing and staging his one-man show, "The Little Flower," which portrays New York City Mayor Fiorello Henry LaGuardia during his last day at city hall. He will also discuss how his show parallels history and modern politics.

Lo Bianco has appeared in numerous films, television programs and stage performances as an actor and has also written, directed and produced, collaborating throughout his career with many of the brightest creative minds in the performing arts.

On stage, Lo Bianco won an Obie Award for Best Actor in Jason Miller’s "Yanks 3 Detroit 0 Top of the Seventh." He was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Actor and won the Outer Critics Circle Award for his memorable performance in Broadway’s "A View from the Bridge." Lo Bianco also received a New York Area Television Academy Award and Daytime Emmy for "Hizzoner! The Life of Fiorello La Guardia."

On-screen, Lo Bianco regularly portrays tough-guy, blue-collar characters, as both law enforcers and criminals. He is best known for his performance as Ray Fernandez in the cult classic "The Honeymoon Killers" and as Sal Boca in the Academy Award-winning film "The French Connection."

Lo Bianco will also stage a community performance of "The Little Flower" at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at the Helen Foley Theater at Binghamton High School. Binghamton University Forum members can purchase discount tickets by visiting http://goodwilltheatre.net/?p=653.
