BINGHAMTON, NY -- Binghamton University’s Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP), in collaboration with Binghamton High School, will host an evening of peace and celebration of community from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, at Binghamton High School. This event is free and open to the public.
A candlelight ceremony in memory of Scott Wright Jr., a former BHS student who was tragically killed on July 7, will be held followed by a Winter Wonderland reception hosted by the students of LPP.
This is the fourth event in a Stop the Violence movement started in Wright’s memory by the LPP students of BHS. Students have pledged to "be the change they want to see," and believe change can only occur through positive social interactions and giving back to their community. They are asking the community to join them in this pledge.
This is a white attire affair and space is limited. RSVP to hcrandal@binghamton.edu or visit the LPP on Facebook.
The Binghamton University Liberty Partnerships Program is committed to improving the abilities of at-risk middle and senior high school students to become effective learners in school and community and to graduate from high school prepared for successful transition into postsecondary education or into entry-level careers.
