BINGHAMTON, NY -- Binghamton University will offer area residents an opportunity to learn more about the Binghamton University campus and what it has to offer from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, in the Center Court of the Oakdale Mall in Johnson City.
Over 30 displays will highlight the University’s research activities, academic offerings and admissions information. The event will showcase student and faculty performances, as well as hands-on science and art activities for children. Drawings for a variety of prizes will be held throughout the afternoon and participants can also take a chance on the Bearcat "Spin to Win" wheel.
"This is an opportunity for us to bring what is great about this University to the community in a fun and entertaining way," said President Harvey Stenger. "We have wonderful students, staff and faculty, and many of them put their talents on display at the mall, and they also provide wonderful activities for people of all ages."
Some of the displays and activities available that day include: DNA extraction, numerous arts and crafts activities for children, a 3D printing demonstration, Beijing Opera face painting, research activities on campus and hands-on examples of how physics can be fun for all ages!
Performers lined up for the day include the Binghamton Crosbys, the Confucius Institute of Chinese Opera, Nukporfe African Dance and Drumming Ensemble, and much more.
