BINGHAMTON, NY – Binghamton University will offer two events aimed at promoting community well-being for older adults as part of "Care Management Summit 2016: Igniting compassion! Embracing GRIT!" on Dec. 10-11 at the Binghamton University Downtown Center, 67 Washington St., Binghamton. Both events are free and open to the public.

A community fair geared toward promoting well-being for adults who are aging and their families will be held from 11.a.m.-2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10. The fair will feature educational, planning and wellness sessions for chair yoga, stress-reduction coaching, fall-prevention techniques, memory and sensory exercises, financial services, Medicare basics and more.

A book signing and reception for Martha Jo Atkins, author of Signposts of Dying: What You Need to Know, will take place from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11.

Care Management Summit 2016 is geared toward caregivers, educators, helping professionals, organizations, policy-makers and researchers from the Northeast and beyond who specialize in caring for individuals with disabilities, older adults and families. The summit is sponsored by Binghamton University’s College of Community and Public Affairs (CCPA) Institute for Multigenerational Studies and Care Manage For All LLC, as well as many community and University partners.
