Background

Marisol Marcin holds a Ph.D. in Translation Studies from the Translation Research and Instruction Program (TRIP) at Binghamton University. Her research focuses on language learning and teaching. 

She has more than 20 years of experience teaching Spanish and English as a new language in secondary and post-secondary education. Over the years, she has offered several courses in Spanish language, Caribbean literature, methods for teaching, second language acquisition, translation workshops and Global Studies. 

She is the current second vice president of the New York Association for Language Teachers and, in this role, collaborates with world language teachers to provide professional development opportunities for teachers in the state. Beyond academia, Marcin is also the founder of a language learning company, showcasing her dedication to innovative language education.
