Decker Foundation Support

The Dr. G. Clifford and Florence B. Decker Foundation has a long history of generous support for the ISPC and its mission. The Decker Foundation was instrumental in providing funding to begin the simulation program in 2007 for the purchase of the first high-fidelity simulators. The Decker Foundation again provided generous support for state-of-the-art equipment, high-fidelity manikins and audio/visual recording systems when the ISPC moved to the Health Sciences Building.

Simulation Wing

The simulation wing includes a control room for observing and interacting with the simulation areas, a classroom for pre-briefing and four debriefing rooms. All simulation spaces have video-recording capabilities to allow for self-reflection and faculty review of activities.

Hospital-Based Simulation Suite (Rooms 229, 231, 232, 234)

The hospital-based simulation suite includes a nurse’s station and 3 patient care areas that can be adapted to represent any hospital environment from ER to OR, NICU to CCU.  Our high-fidelity manikins represent diverse backgrounds and ages.

Deliberate Practice (Room 201)

The deliberate practice area is designed for teaching and practice of skills for a wide range of healthcare professions. Four practice beds with headwalls and counter-height tables provide flexible areas for various activities. Large screens allow for projecting skills demonstrations or reviewing training videos.

Innovative Instruction  (Rooms 205–212)

The innovative instruction rooms are set up as exam rooms; however, all furniture is movable to provide flexible functionality. With a variety of healthcare programs and increasing virtual-reality simulation opportunities, the innovative instruction rooms can meet the needs of students now and in the future.  These rooms also support video recording for competency-based activities.
