Campus Climate Survey FAQ

Binghamton University invites all students, staff, faculty and administrators to participate in the 2023 Campus Climate Survey from October 3 through November 5. For more information about the survey, contact the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

What is a Campus Climate Survey?

The Campus Climate Survey is an opportunity for the Bearcat community to share their voices and experiences related to diversity, inclusion and belonging in a confidential format. Data from the survey will help the university more fully understand the perceptions and experiences of students, faculty and staff and identify additional initiatives that support Binghamton’s approach to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.

Am I required to take this survey?

Your participation is voluntary. The purpose of this survey is to more fully understand the perceptions and experiences of students, faculty and staff, evaluate progress on climate issues and identify potential next steps for the University.

How will the survey be conducted?

You will receive an email from our partner Campus Climate Survey, LLC/Viewfinder®. The email received from "Viewfinder® Campus Climate Surveys" will contain a link to the survey that is unique to you.

Is the survey confidential?

Yes, it is confidential. No personal identifying information will be collected from you. Individual data will not be reported, only aggregate data will be reported.

How long will it take to complete the survey?

The survey should take between 20 and 25 minutes to complete.

Do I have to complete the survey in one sitting?

Because the survey link is unique to each individual, you have the option to start the survey, stop, and resume at a later time. Just make sure to complete the survey before it closes on Friday, November 3.

How do I participate in the incentive program?

Once you have completed the survey, you will be provided a link to enter the Campus Climate Survey Raffle. Entry into the drawing is completely independent of your survey responses ensuring that your participation in the survey remains anonymous. At the survey close, a random drawing will be conducted, and winners will be notified by email. Prizes can be accepted in person, and details will be provided to identified winners. The odds of winning depend on the number of entries received.
