The Graduate School provides extensive support for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars across all disciplines, colleges, and schools at Binghamton University. To maximize the graduate and postgraduate experience, we provide a broad range of support for the academic pursuits, professional development, and experiential learning that prepare them for a successful career powered by life-long learning. Our generous donors are in a unique position to enrich graduate education and postdoctoral training, while also serving as an outstanding example of community-minded and purposeful giving.

Graduate School Priorities

Lois B. DeFleur Doctoral Student Excellence Endowment

This fund was established by Lois B. DeFleur, who served as President of Binghamton University from 1990-2010, to support doctoral students in pursuit of their degrees. Funds from this endowment are used to enable the collection of data, conduct interviews and other information-gathering activities that form the basis of the students' doctoral dissertation, or to support professional development experiences such as travel to conferences, workshops, and other training experiences that will substantially enrich their doctoral education. The endowment is open to receive additional donations and is a top priority for funding for the Graduate School.
