Message from the Dean of the Graduate School:
The Graduate School provides extensive support for graduate students and postdoctoral
scholars across all disciplines, colleges, and schools at Binghamton University. To
maximize the graduate and postgraduate experience, we provide a broad range of support
for the academic pursuits, professional development, and experiential learning that
prepare them for a successful career powered by life-long learning. Our generous donors
are in a unique position to enrich graduate education and postdoctoral training, while
also serving as an outstanding example of community-minded and purposeful giving.
Graduate School Priorities

Lois B. DeFleur Doctoral Student Excellence Endowment
This fund was established by Lois B. DeFleur, who served as President of Binghamton
University from 1990-2010, to support doctoral students in pursuit of their degrees.
Funds from this endowment are used to enable the collection of data, conduct interviews
and other information-gathering activities that form the basis of the students' doctoral
dissertation, or to support professional development experiences such as travel to
conferences, workshops, and other training experiences that will substantially enrich
their doctoral education. The endowment is open to receive additional donations and
is a top priority for funding for the Graduate School.

Clifford D. Clark Fellowship for Graduate Students (Endowment)
The Clifford D. Clark Fellowship Fund for Graduate Students directly supports outstanding
graduate students facing societal disadvantages and efforts to recruit and retain
these students. These funds cover stipends and tuition or expenses that substantially
enrich the professional development, social engagement, and professional networking
opportunities of Clifford D. Clark Fellows. Funds are also used to support research-related
expenses, hosting of speakers, professional travel, and other expenses that facilitate
recruitment and retention of Clifford D. Clark Fellows.

Rosa Colecchio Graduate Travel Fund (Endowment)
The Rosa Colecchio Graduate Travel Fund was established to help doctoral students
gain access to research resources that meaningfully enhance dissertation work. The
fund ensures projects benefit in ways that would otherwise be unattainable and is
designed to strengthen the academic and societal impact of dissertation projects.
To be eligible, doctoral students must have been formally admitted to PhD candidacy
and be enrolled in dissertation credit.

Binghamton Fund for Graduate Studies
The Binghamton Fund supports all aspects of graduate education and postdoctoral training.
Funds are available for immediate use at the discretion of the Dean, enabling the
Graduate School to meet its strategic goals as opportunities arise, and in the face
of a rapidly-changing landscape in higher education. In addition to supporting strategic initiatives
of The Graduate School, the Binghamton Fund for Graduate Studies supports scholarship
and professional development activities that promote path-breaking and career-changing
opportunities for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars.
Join the Graduate School Board of Directors
The Graduate School Board of Directors is comprised of key alumni and friends who
are eager to share their knowledge, experience, and passion with our graduate students
and postdoctoral scholars. Through regular interactions with the Dean, they have the
capacity to serve as key advisors in shaping the graduate experience by providing
critical insight into how to best prepare our constituents to thrive in the workforce.
Members of the Graduate School Board of Directors also provide financial support through
ongoing or planned giving to strengthen the graduate and postdoctoral ecosystem at
