Sample itinerary for your day in Binghamton
The Graduate School's graduate assistants and staff offer their recommendations for a day in Binghamton.
Morning
They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and the Binghamton area provides some tasty options. You can go to Nezuntoz for fresh bagels, a breakfast sandwich or coffee. Or try Laveggio for artisan-roasted coffee and breakfast pastries. Crepe Heaven's name says it all. With a little bit of a drive, you can get fresh donuts and apple cider (seasonal) at the Cider Mill. Panera and Starbucks are two other close-to-campus options.
Visit and Tour
Take in the Binghamton University campus, and meet with faculty in your department of interest.
While you're on campus, you can grab lunch at one of many dining spots. You can also stop in and view the University Art Museum's collections.
Morning or afternoon, you can check out downtown Binghamton. You might stop by RiverRead books, browse the shops on Washington Street, check out the Binghamton Farmers' Market, or stroll down the RiverWalk to Confluence Park. Take a peek in the Binghamton University Downtown Center, home to the College of Community and Public Affairs.
If you enjoy the outdoors, you can hike along one of the trails in the Binghamton University Nature Preserve. You can also meet the new tigers at the Ross Park Zoo or drive out to Apple Hills to pick fresh apples, cherries, blueberries, and raspberries (depending on the season).
