Graduate Student Professional Development and Placement Support

The History Department is committed to help its graduate students develop the skills, dispositions, and knowledge necessary to become outstanding professionals and to enter satisfying careers. Individual faculty work with their advisees to hone professional skills and enjoy success in finding employment. The Department’s Professional Development Committee and its chair also provide support for students as do several offices outside the Department, including the Graduate School, the Fleischman Career Development Center, and the Center for Teaching and Learning.

These pages are designed provide a guide to some of the resources available to students. For questions or further information, please feel free to contact Professor Donald Nieman, the chair of the department’s professional development committee, dnieman@binghamton.edu
