HEALTH INSURANCE AND TRAVEL INFORMATION

International students often have questions regarding requirements for health insurance as a Binghamton Student. We’re here to help!

Since you are required to maintain the international health insurance provided through Binghamton University, we DO NOT recommend that you purchase your own insurance with the intent of replacing the University health insurance.  This includes health insurance that you may be able to purchase in your home country as well as alternative health insurance policies that can be purchased in the United States.

You will be automatically enrolled in the international health insurance plan.

Not all medical services are paid for through your Binghamton health insurance plan. This includes vision services related to eye glasses/contact lenses. We recommend that you address these needs before you arrive in the U.S.

All pre-arrival emails will be posted on our webpage for future reference. Emails will only be posted once they have been sent.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the ISSS office at intlori@binghamton.edu if you need assistance.

Best,
The Office of International Student and Scholar Services
