Arrange Your Housing

New international students at Binghamton University are expected to arrive by Tuesday, August 13, 2024 for International Student Orientation.

Arrange your on-campus housing

All new first-year students are required to live on campus. Undergraduate transfer students are not required to live on campus, but can live on-campus if you decide this is the best housing option for you.

For details on how new students can sign up for on-campus housing, review the Fall 2024 Housing Sign-up Information page.

For more information regarding on campus housing, visit the housing section of our website.

If you have any questions regarding your on campus housing, you should contact Residence Life.

*Please make sure you upload your photo for your student ID card before you arrive on campus as you will need your student ID card to have access to your building.

Please Note: If you accept the keys to your room, suite or apartment or move your belongings into your room, suite or apartment, you are obligated to remain in on-campus housing for the entire Fall 2024 semester.

International student on-campus housing move-in process

New international undergraduates who will be living on-campus should plan to arrive at Binghamton University on Monday, August 12, between 9:00am - 9:00pm.  This will ensure that you can move into your room the day before your required English Language Assessment on Tuesday, August 13.

Monday, August 12 is the only date that extended move-in hours will be offered until 9:00pm.  If you arrive on August 13 or later, you will need to check-in with the Office of Residential Life between 9:00am -3:00pm.  If you arrive prior to Monday, August 12, you will need to make arrangements to stay at a local hotel.

Please be aware that international students are allowed to move onto campus earlier than most students in order to attend International Student Orientation. You might see reduced staffing and services during the week of August 12-16, but you will be able to access everything you need during this time. You will have a full schedule of activities beginning Tuesday, August 13, so it is important to arrive on August 12 so that you have time to move in and get settled.

Arrange your off-campus housing

If you wish to live off campus, you must arrange your own housing. For information on how to do so, you can visit the housing section of our website.
