Curtis Kendrick serves as University Libraries faculty and staff mentor at Binghamton University, having served there as dean of libraries from 2016-2022. In his current position, Kendrick is developing the Institute for Racial Equity Advancement in Libraries, with colleagues from the City University of New York and Rutgers University. Prior to Binghamton he served as university dean for libraries and information resources for the City University of New York. In this capacity he provided executive leadership for the 21-campus university system, serving 250,000 students. Kendrick has also held library administrative positions at Columbia University, Harvard University, Stony Brook University and Oberlin College. He has published broadly on race and libraries, library technology and library management, including a seminal work on the competitive advantage of librarians. He serves or has served on many boards including Ithaka, and the Yonkers Board of Education, providing oversight to a $500 million school system.
