Laura began her career as an occupational therapist where she specialized in neurorehabilitation and work rehab. She then pursued a career in library and information science and earned her MLIS from the University of Maryland, College Park. Melding her two careers, Laura has practiced as a medical librarian for a MidWestern College of Osteopathic Medicine and is now the health science collection development librarian and subject specialist for the Decker School of Nursing. Laura's specialties include evidence synthesis methodology and evidence-based practice instruction, including search strategy development and critical appraisal. Laura's research interests are focused upon the pedagogy of evidence-based practice instruction and case-based learning. Laura is an active member within the Medical Library Association where she has received special honors in the areas of research, systematic review specialization and is a member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals.
