The Office of Institutional Research (OIR) accurately and objectively compiles, analyzes, and delivers information about Binghamton University community to internal and external constituencies in order to foster informed decision making and data literacy. OIR also fulfills federal, state, and SUNY System mandated reporting and responds to numerous information requests.
OIR Mission:
The mission of the Office of Institutional Research is to support the University’s mission through the collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of institutional data. We provide contextually relevant information to both internal and external constituents in support of institutional effectiveness including planning, policy analyses, and decision-making.
OIR Goals:
Overall, OIR’s core activities fall under the following overarching goals:
- Provide accurate data to internal and external constituents in a timely manner.
- Conduct analytical studies to support University leaders to make data-informed decisions.
- Support University Road Map planning processes to achieve institutional goals, objectives, and initiatives.
- Provide quality customer service to university and external constituents.
